Mike Manning

We all call him Mikey. We all love Mikey. Even me, even though I hate him very much, too.
Years ago I write here the Real Story about Mikey and Jami. He saw it, there was a link on my emails to this blog, and he demanded that I remove the story about him because it was defamatory even though it was also 100% true.
He has done well over the years. Been a Good Father to the 2 daughters he got custody of and raised. Married again. A good marriage by most accounts.
It still sickens me to hear him glorified. Is it petty of me that I hate that no one knows the evil, hateful things he did to Me? That I largely blame him for Jami's life since him?
Don't read this if you don't want to know the truth. I'm going to tell the story before I forget it.
Maybe he can be somewhat excused because he was so young and naive (stupid) when he met Jami. But they were together for many years that he had to grow up and wise up.
Mikey was playing knight in shining armor. A role I hear he continued rescuing his current wife, Angie,  who was an alcoholic when they met. That's heresy but believable with his past.
Jami was writing to a military man named Pat around 1996. When they met she decided she didn't like him but she did like his buddy Mikey. Mikey was about a year younger than her, a sheltered boy from Minnesota. Jami never acted like she fell in love with Mikey. For a long time it seemed like she was just using him.  He was in the Air Force and was often deployed overseas for long periods of time. I remember he would let Jami use his truck while he was gone and then he would have to hunt her down when he came home. Jami fell in love with Buda, a 300 pound cook during one of Mekey's deployments. They came to my house several times. Once they got in a big argument in the front yard and a neighbor called the police. We were living in Keystone. The neighbors let us know that the police Never got called to Keystone before we moved there. Oh well, there goes the neighborhood!
That time the truck had been wrecked, just rear bumper damage, and Mikey was wrecked over it too. He called me, drunk as a skunk, needing a safe ride home from an Irish bar. He kept saying, "For a 300 pound man!! She ditched me for a 300 pound man!!"
Buda and Jami didn't last long. I'm pretty sure that he's the one who ended it.
She went back to Mikey.
Not long after that Mikey was again overseas when Joe Thompson came to town. Joe had been a part of my Extended Family since he was a teenager. In fact, he had a child, Hannah, with Lindsey's father's sister, Jenny, shortly after Lindsey was born actually weaving himself into my actual family. Joe stayed with Jami while he was here and they stopped by one day to tell me that they were in Love and planning to marry. I don't even know how long that lasted or how it ended. I Don't even know how much Mikey knew about it. If he know it seems he would have objected when Jami named her first child with him Joey, but that's another story.
I had legal custody of Lindsey since she was 2 years old, before Mikey came into the picture. That, too, is another story but it would play a big part in the Mikey story.
